One unit is one running EC2 instance of the size you select. You pay the hourly software rate for each instance while it runs. Each instance is billed separately, so running two instances doubles the software charge for that hour.
The software rate meters running hours only. Fully stopped instances do not accrue the hourly software charge. Stopped instances may still incur underlying AWS storage fees for attached volumes, but those are separate from this software's hourly charge.

Usage instructions
Launch an EC2 instance from this AWS Marketplace AMI. Ensure that your Security Group allows inbound SSH (TCP port 22). Connect to the instance using your EC2 key pair:
ssh -i /path/to/your-key.pem ubuntu@<PUBLIC_IP>
Create and activate a Python virtual environment:
python3 -m venv ~/venv source ~/venv/bin/activate
Verify the installed package:
pip show httpbin
To install or upgrade packages inside the virtual environment, use pip as needed.
