Architecture
Starlight Storage Protect for Cloud is a seller-managed SaaS backup and recovery platform available through AWS Marketplace. Buyers subscribe using standard AWS Marketplace contracts, complete a guided registration flow, and are automatically provisioned with a dedicated backup tenant backed by AWS Backup, Amazon S3, and AWS KMS. The entire onboarding sequence runs through API Gateway and Lambda under a custom-domain fulfillment endpoint, with subscription and entitlement state tracked in DynamoDB.
Once active, the platform delivers centralized, policy-driven backup across workloads running in AWS and connected environments. Backup plans, retention schedules, and recovery point objectives are managed through a unified dashboard. AWS KMS customer-managed keys are supported for organizations with data sovereignty or compliance requirements. All backup jobs and events are logged and auditable.
Subscription lifecycle events including new subscriptions, contract amendments, entitlement updates, and cancellations are processed automatically through AWS Marketplace SNS notifications and EventBridge, ensuring that entitlement state stays in sync with the AWS Marketplace contract without manual intervention. Support is available through a dedicated support channel included with each subscription tier.

Vendor refund policy
Refunds are reviewed case by case for material service failure, duplicate billing, or erroneous charges. Requests must be submitted within 30 days of the charge with account and invoice details.
