Exhaust System Market Financial Facts and Figures, 2022 to 2031

Provided By: Market.us

The exhaust system is a series of pipes that funnel gases from the engine into a muffler or a set of mufflers. Exhaust systems are designed to reduce noise pollution and to control the amount of fuel that is wasted. Every car, truck, and SUV needs an exhaust system to carry hot gasses away from the engine. A poorly functioning exhaust system can cause major problems for your vehicle's emission system.

Overview

Strategic overview

The engine of an Internal Combustion Engine (ICE) vehicle releases several toxic gases into the environment. An exhaust system  in these vehicles is used to purify numerous harmful gases, as well as to channel these gases away from the combustion area inside an engine, thereby decreasing the overall noise of the engine.

Exhaust gases released from engine cylinders are accumulated and cooled down by the exhaust manifold and passed to the catalytic converter through the downpipe. The catalytic converter and after-treatment devices act as an exhaust gas purifier and subsequently remove harmful determinants from the gases.

These gases then travel through the muffler, minimizing engine noise, and are finally emitted as less harmful exhaust gases through the tailpipe. The exhaust system consists of an exhaust manifold, a downpipe, a catalytic converter, sensors (oxygen, temperature, and others), and tailpipes, among other components.

The exhaust system also consists of various after-treatment devices, along with the catalytic converter, which are used to remove harmful constituents such as carbon monoxide (CO), carbon dioxide (CO2), nitrogen oxides (NOX), and Particulate Matter (PM) from the exhaust gas.

Market Dynamics

The stringent emission norms enacted by several countries across the world are a primary factor slated to improve the demand for efficient exhaust systems. This in turn is expected to boost the revenue trajectory of this given market.

The increasing demand for lightweight vehicles, coupled with a growing need for fuel economy has resulted in reduced emissions. These factors are anticipated to create lucrative opportunities of financial growth for this global market.

The increasing demand for EVs, CNG-, and LPG-powered vehicles primarily due to a spike in concerns regarding environmental pollution and the various negative repercussions of climate change are also factors expected to hamper projected profit margins for the global exhaust system market.
