HOW WE WORK: ASSESS, MIGRATE, OPTIMISE
Assess. ORBIT helps you assess your workload and its readiness for migration to the cloud, using tools and frameworks including the AWS Cloud Readiness Assessment (CRA) and the AWS Optimization and Licensing Assessment (OLA). AWS OLA provides recommendations for instances that are optimally sized and licence-optimised for your on-premises Windows workloads, including Reserved Instances, optimised processors, Dedicated Hosts and Microsoft BYOL options. Licensing is usually where the business case is won or lost, so it is examined before migration rather than after.
Migrate. Customers migrating Windows Server and SQL Server workloads can take advantage of AWS Windows migration programs. The AWS Migration Acceleration Program (MAP) for Windows provides services, best practices and tools that reduce cost and accelerate your migration to AWS. We run the migration alongside your engineers and validate each workload against agreed acceptance criteria before cutover.
Optimise. AWS built-in expense management tools let you visualise, understand and manage your costs and usage over time. Pricing models such as Savings Plans can reduce your bill by up to 72% compared with On-Demand pricing in exchange for a commitment to consistent usage. We establish the cost visibility and commitment strategy so savings are realised and sustained after go-live.
