VMWare Migration Services to Nutanix with AWS Disaster Recovery

Overview Migration services for customers to move them from their existing VMWare ESXi environments to a new Nutanix AHV environment with AWS for Disaster Recovery based on customer SLA requirements.

Important Notes

Nutanix Cluster: Migration services consist of moving all VMs and associated data from VMWare vSphere to a new Nutanix AHV hybrid-cloud environment and enabling Disaster Recovery (DR) with AWS.

Hypervisor: This service moves VMWare vSphere to Nutanix AHV hypervisor-based clusters (can include Prism Central optimization and EC2 to AWS for DR.

Additional Components: Replication, Encryption, and Switches are not included in this service. Additional service offerings exist to cover these items.

Supported Hardware Platforms: Nutanix NX, Cisco, Lenovo, and Dell. HPE is a higher cost due to complexity.

Service Overview

This is a daily-cost fixed scope Service based on the number of VMs to move, where we provide experienced personnel (certified in both Nutanix and VMWare) to perform the following:

Project management

Scoping, design, cost, risk, migration, and verification of in-scope components

Provide Functional Training to familiarize Clients staff with the solution or we can provide resource options to manage your environment for you.

Provide completed Service Deliverables

During this Service, KHT performs the following:

Planning

Provides pre-site checklist with video assistance to help with design requirements Plans and estimates schedules

SLA goals for DR in AWS plus assistance setting up an AWS account

Establishes project status meetings and communication cadence

Validates equipment is on-site at the appropriate location and all the pre-requisite information required for either installation or migration is formally addressed

Physical Installation (remote preferred but onsite possible with travel costs extra):

Remote installation or optional rack and stack Nutanix nodes in a customer-provided rack with additional items below:

Connects data network cables to customer-provided switches and out of band management cables to management network

Connect redundant power connections

Configures the out of band IP address on the nodes

Hypervisor Configuration:

Will configure Nutanix Controller VM as part of install services

Assists customer with setup of DR with AWS

Customer to provide media and license keys

Applies any necessary Hypervisor patches and/or configuration updates to the Nutanix CVM

Configures standard or distributed vSwitches

Configures vSwitch VLAN port groups

Configures administrative parameters

DNS, NTP, Syslog, AD, and SNMP (RBAC configuration out of scope)

Nutanix Acropolis (AOS) or Prism Pro Configuration:

Validation:

Validates the installation with the customer to ensure desired results and functionality

Executes Nutanix Cluster Check & Diagnostic Test

Verifies Nutanix alerts received by Client

Knowledge Transfer:

Conducts a basic Functional Overview of up to two (2) hours, to:

Familiarize the Client with the implemented solution

Demonstrate normal operations as installed

Review Nutanix support portal and as-built documentation

Provide tips on how best to monitor and ensure maximized use

KH Technologies will customize the Services based on your needs, the price shown is a daily price of which KHT can migrate up to a max of 75 VMs from VMWare ESXi to Nutanix AHV, setup of DR with AWS may require another day of services. Additionally, we can provide multi-tenancy MSP services to manage your AWS footprint with AWS Lighthouse, if requested at a separate cost.

Price shown is a daily cost based on the above. You can calculate the total estimated cost based on # of VMs to move / 75 = number of days x daily cost = estimated total cost.

Travel is not included in that cost estimate or AWS setup for DR.

Installation services of Nutanix hardware and software is also not included in the price but typically would be 2 days per 4 nodes and 1 cluster.

Assumptions

KH Technologies will rely on certain assumptions in the performance of this Service.

For onsite installation services additional travel costs may apply, remote will not incur these costs.

We are certain we will beat any pricing by others or Nutanix directly, call us for a quote.

Our services will beat Nutanix directly or any reseller by approx. 30-60% in savings.
