Overview
aicas Edge Device Portal simplifies the management of multiple edge devices via a single, user-friendly portal. The cloud-based solution provides flexibility for dynamic software deployment and simplified application lifecycle management. It provides unified access and secure management of heterogeneous edge devices, and the software installed on them. Its configurable, role-based access enables secure and easy creation, deployment, and monitoring of high-quality software.
The aicas Edge Device Portal can be easily customized and tailored to individual needs. Any device can be added to view its versioning and device status. Software deployment and application lifecycle management facilitate the safe replacement of components during system runtime, thus enabling highly flexible systems.
System integrators benefit from easy integration of the portal into existing CI/CD pipelines. Developers and QA engineers can easily test software by deploying software to simulated and real devices.
Highlights
- Software Configuration Management in a user-friendly portal.

aicas EDP Deployment
Users communicate with EDP through a web browser. The deployment of EDP is based on a CloudFormation template. Route53 hosts EDP domain name and routes requests to the EDP server. EDP components run as a docker containers in AWS EC2 instance. Certain IAM roles are required for this instance. EDP relies on AWS IoT services to provide device management, device security and device communication features. EDP uses the AWS Just in Time provisioning JITP mechanism to provision devices. To get an OSGi bundle from EDP, the device sends a request to the URL pre signer lambda function. SQS FIFO is the engine behind sending pipeline requests. The URL presigner lambda communicates with S3 to find appropriate bundle and generate a pre-signed URL to this bundle. EDP backend launches a new Fargate task each time bundle processing is required. Amazon S3 store the logs file uploaded bt the step containers.
CloudFormation Template (CFT)
AWS CloudFormation templates are JSON or YAML-formatted text files that simplify provisioning and management on AWS. The templates describe the service or application architecture you want to deploy, and AWS CloudFormation uses those templates to provision and configure the required services (such as Amazon EC2 instances or Amazon RDS DB instances). The deployed application and associated resources are called a "stack."
