Dimensions summary
You pay by the hour for the EC2 instance type you run this proxy software on. Every dimension maps to a specific instance size, so your rate rises with the compute power you choose. Smaller burstable types (the t2, t3, and t3a families) suit light traffic. General-purpose types (the m3, m4, m5, m5a, m5ad, m5d, m5dn, and m5n families) scale from large up through 24xlarge and bare-metal options for heavier workloads. There is no upfront commitment. You select one instance type and are billed only for the hours you run it.
Top-of-mind questions for buyers
You are billed for each hour the chosen EC2 instance runs the software. One unit equals one running instance-hour. Each instance size carries its own hourly rate. The charge covers the software licence and the compute size you selected, billed for the time the instance stays running.
The software rate meters running time only. When you fully stop the instance, software charges stop accruing. Stopped instances may still incur underlying AWS storage fees for attached volumes, but those are separate from the hourly software charge shown in the table.
Your traffic load drives the choice. Burstable t2, t3, and t3a types suit light or occasional proxy traffic. General-purpose m3, m4, m5, m5a, m5ad, m5d, m5dn, and m5n types scale up to 24xlarge and bare-metal sizes for heavier, sustained web traffic. Your rate rises with the size you pick.
