Dimensions summary
You pay by the hour based on the EC2 instance type you choose to run this MongoDB server. The hourly software charge meters running time only. A stopped instance stops accruing this charge, though underlying AWS storage fees may still apply. Automated backups write to an S3 bucket you own, so S3 storage costs bill separately through AWS and are not part of this hourly rate.
Cost depends entirely on the instance type you pick and how many hours it runs. There are no per-user or per-database charges. A more powerful instance carries a higher hourly rate. To change cost, you stop the instance or relaunch on a different instance type.
