Overview
The Modernization Viability Assessment (MVA) is a structured engagement that helps organizations evaluate, prioritize, and execute the modernization of Microsoft workloads on AWS. Through a detailed review of Windows Server, SQL Server, and legacy .NET applications, our AWS-certified experts assess technical architecture, licensing exposure, and business objectives to determine if, why and how modernization should occur. The MVA identifies opportunities to transition from EC2-based rehosting to AWS native services such as Amazon Aurora, Amazon RDS, Amazon EKS, and modern containerized .NET architectures-often unlocking significant cost savings through SQL Server license elimination and consolidation. At the conclusion of the assessment, customers receive a prioritized modernization roadmap, target architecture design, projected AWS cost model, estimated projected timeline, and guidacne on potential AWS Microsoft Modernization Program (MMP) funding eligibility - providing a clear, data driven path to reduce costs, lower technical debt, and accelerate cloud-native innovation.
Highlights
- Identify potential database savings of up to 70% through licensing elimination and consolidation by evaluating modernization of Windows Server, SQL Server, and legacy .NET workloads on AWS and identify opportunities to migrate from Microsoft SQL Server to Amazon Aurora and other AWS-native or open-source services, and transition from legacy .NET Framework to modern .NET and containerized architectures
- Reduce technical debt and improve scalability, performance, and cloud portability
- Receive a prioritized modernization roadmap with target architecture and projected AWS costs and identify eligibility for AWS Microsoft Modernization Program (MMP) Funding
