You can launch as many instances from as many different AMIs as you need.

Usage instructions
Assume that an end-user need migrate from instance A to instance B. We can backup the unit configuration and restore on the new instance. On instance A: 1. Enter the vASF config mode. 2. Type "write all scp|tftp xxx" to backup the configuration information. Note: If instance A still need run, you can modify the configuration using text editor, such as EIPs. On instance B: 1. Enter the vASF config mode. 2. with proper basic network setup 3. Type 'config all scp|tftp xxx' to restore the configuration.
