Dimensions summary
You pay by the hour based on the AWS EC2 instance size you choose to run this software. The software cost is the same across instances; your hourly rate scales with the compute capacity of the instance type. Options range from small burstable instances like t2.nano and t3.micro up to large memory-, compute-, storage-, and GPU-optimized types such as x1e.32xlarge, u-24tb1.metal, and p3dn.24xlarge. There are no upfront commitments or fixed terms. You select the instance that fits your workload and pay only for the hours you run.
Top-of-mind questions for buyers
The hourly rate covers this software running on the EC2 instance type you select. One unit equals one hour of one running instance. The instance type sets the compute, memory, or storage capacity, so larger instance types carry higher hourly rates. You pick the type that matches your workload.
Software charges apply per running instance-hour. A stopped instance does not accrue the hourly software fee. Note that AWS may still bill underlying storage for the stopped instance's disk. The software meter counts only the hours the instance is actually running.
The image deploys MySQL, Apache, PHP, and phpMyAdmin, all installed and configured via XAMPP. You connect over RDP, then start Apache and MySQL from the XAMPP control panel. You must open the required database and web ports in your AWS security groups and set a strong database password, since it ships blank.
