You get a hardened Rocky Linux 8 ARM64 minimal image, tuned to security baselines like CIS benchmarks. The hourly charge covers this software layer only. It runs on AWS Graviton ARM64 EC2 instances, with kernel, firewall, and access controls configured for security and stability.
Am I charged the software fee when my instance is stopped or paused?
The software charge meters running instance-hours only. Fully stopped instances do not accrue software charges. Stopped instances may still incur standard AWS storage fees for attached volumes, billed separately by AWS. The software license bills active running time.
How do the software charge and the AWS infrastructure charge combine on my bill?
Two charges apply per running hour and add together. One is the hourly software fee for the hardened image, set by the instance type you pick. The other is the standard AWS EC2 charge for that instance. Both appear on the same AWS invoice.
