Overview
This Squid Image is an excellent solution to a variety of proxy and caching server needs, and scales from the branch office to enterprise level networks while providing extensive, granular access control mechanisms, and monitoring of critical parameters via the Simple Network Management Protocol (SNMP). It maintains an in-memory cache for increased performance.
Squid will help you to optimize and enhance the performance and security of your network. It reduces the amount of effort that you will have to put in, saving your time to get the most out of your network. Whether you only run one site or are in charge of a whole network, Squid is an invaluable tool that improves performance immeasurably.
Features for higher protection:
Block/Allow access to certain websites Block/Allow Content Based on MIME Types (e.g image, text, mpeg). Set ACL for which networks have access to the internet. Set time in which users can access the internet at certain times in the day. Hide users internal IP Addresses. Allow/Block IM (Instant Messaging). Block coin-mining scripts from using CPU/memory on users browsers. A new modern trend. Prevent downloading of virus-infected files or to filter out adult content.
Squid Proxy Server enables you to cache your web content and return it quickly on subsequent requests. System administrators often struggle with delays and too much bandwidth being used, but Squid solves these problems by handling requests locally.
Highlights
- Improve the speed of your internet by caching frequently accessed websites. Also, restrict access to certain websites within your network.
