Overview
Playground CloudOps - Managed Platform Engineering for AWS
Playground CloudOps is a managed platform engineering service that takes full operational responsibility for your AWS infrastructure. You keep ownership of your applications and workloads; we own the platform layer beneath them - the infrastructure, delivery pipelines, observability, and incident response.
Why Buyers Choose Playground
- Shared-platform leverage: Every improvement built for one customer ships to all customers on the platform. You gain continuous upgrades and new golden-path modules without additional project cost - unlike dedicated-tenant services that stagnate after initial delivery.
- Operational ownership, not just advisory: We do not hand you runbooks and walk away. Playground holds defined service levels per AWS service and responds to incidents 24/7 (or office hours where that fits better).
- ISO/IEC 27001:2023 certified operations: Our business processes and ways of operating are independently certified, giving your compliance team confidence from day one.
What the Service Includes
- Infrastructure standardization - Vetted infrastructure as code templates and golden paths that eliminate configuration drift and reduce onboarding time for new workloads.
- GitOps delivery - Continuous delivery through ArgoCD with governance built into the pipeline, enabling faster and safer deployments.
- Security and compliance automation - Secrets management, drift detection, and policy-as-code enforcement across environments.
- Standardized observability - Dashboards and alerting across all environments so your teams see what matters without building tooling from scratch.
- Incident response - 24/7 on-call coverage with defined response targets, or office-hours coverage where appropriate.
- Defined service levels - Documented SLAs per AWS service category (compute, Kubernetes, databases, backups).
Example Use Case
A growing technology company running multiple Kubernetes clusters across several AWS accounts needs to shift developer time from infrastructure toil to product delivery. Their existing Terraform is inconsistent across teams, observability is fragmented, and incident response falls to whoever is available. Playground onboards the environment through a discovery workshop, standardizes the IaC layer, deploys ArgoCD-based delivery pipelines, and transitions the environment into the recurring managed service - freeing the engineering team to focus on application development while Playground handles platform operations.
Onboarding Process
Onboarding is a scoped project that begins with discovery workshops to map your current environment, define scope, and produce a statement of work. From there, Playground either builds a new platform or takes over your existing infrastructure. The engagement then transitions into the recurring monthly managed service. Deliverables at each milestone are documented and agreed upon during discovery.
Optional Add-On Services
- Procurement management - Vendor contracts, procurement models, and AWS funding program applications.
- Managed FinOps - Cost visibility, optimization recommendations, and purchase-option management.
- Managed security and governance - Extends platform-level security automation to managed detective and preventive controls across your AWS organization.
How Delivery Works
Playground uses cross-account IAM roles provisioned through AWS IAM and AWS STS with least-privilege policies. All provisioned services and IAM policy statements are documented during onboarding. AWS infrastructure costs incurred in your accounts are separate from this AWS Marketplace transaction and remain your responsibility.

Support Channels
Support is provided through the Playground support portal at https://www.playgroundtech.io/contact . Response times follow the support level agreed in each engagement's statement of work.
Onboarding Process
Onboarding begins with a discovery workshop where Playground maps your current AWS environment, identifies scope boundaries, and documents requirements. The output of discovery is a statement of work that defines deliverables, milestones, and service levels for the engagement. From there, Playground either builds a new platform or takes over your existing infrastructure. The final phase is transition into the recurring managed service, at which point 24/7 (or office-hours) incident response coverage begins.
Typical onboarding milestones include: (1) Discovery complete - buyer receives a scoped statement of work and architecture decision record; (2) Platform build or takeover complete - buyer receives documented IAM policies, golden-path templates, and observability dashboards; (3) Transition to managed service - defined service levels take effect.
