Overview
Who this is for
Canadian public-sector suppliers, health organizations, insurers, financial institutions and education groups, and the software companies that serve them, whose contracts or regulators require data residency in Canada. The buyer is the CIO, CTO or CISO, with privacy and procurement as co-approvers.
The problem
Residency is easy to promise at go-live and hard to keep. New services get enabled in other Regions, logs and backups go to default destinations, keys are created without a plan, and nobody checks again until a privacy officer, auditor or procurement review asks for proof. Each answer is assembled by hand, and drift between reviews goes unnoticed.
What we deliver
Sovereignty onboarding. We review where your data, keys, logs and backups actually live, then set Region-deny guardrails with service control policies, in-Region AWS KMS keys, log and backup destinations in Canada, and an operator access model with every action logged. The residency evidence baseline is recorded before monthly operations start.
Monthly operations. Our engineers run the environment around the clock, respond to incidents, patch and maintain, review guardrail drift and any new service use against the residency design, and fix deviations with your approval.
Evidence. A monthly residency report shows where data, keys, logs and backups are held and any exceptions with their owners. In the Extended service, a quarterly evidence pack supports privacy, audit and procurement reviews.
Operator access. Dedicatted works through roles you control. The access model, including where our operators are located, is written into the private offer so your privacy team can approve it.
This listing runs residency controls after go-live. To build them, see Canadian Data Residency Landing Zone on AWS by Dedicatted; to assess your current position first, see Digital Sovereignty Readiness Assessment on AWS by Dedicatted.
AWS services integrated
AWS Organizations and service control policies, AWS Control Tower Region deny, AWS Key Management Service, AWS CloudTrail, AWS Config, Amazon S3, AWS Backup, AWS Security Hub, Amazon GuardDuty, AWS IAM Identity Center and Amazon CloudWatch, in the AWS Canada (Central) and Canada West (Calgary) Regions.
Outcomes
- Data, keys, logs and backups stay in AWS Canada Regions, with guardrails that stop drift.
- Residency is checked every month, not just at go-live.
- Privacy, audit and procurement reviews get evidence from the monthly record.
- Your operator access model is written down and approved by your privacy team.
Evidence
Dedicatted is the first and only Canadian AWS Partner to hold the AWS Digital Sovereignty Services Competency, and is in the AWS Managed Service Provider Program with the AWS Cloud Operations Services Competency. For the largest driving school network in Quebec, Dedicatted made a regulated enrolment platform auditable, defensible and reproducible and runs it under a managed service. For a travel insurance administrator, we built generative AI claims processing kept entirely inside Canada under customer-managed keys. Both are published as case studies on our AWS Partner Solutions Finder profile.
Where we deliver
Dedicatted is an AWS Premier Tier Services Partner and AWS Managed Service Provider headquartered in Toronto and Montreal, Canada. It is the first Canadian partner to hold both AWS AI Competencies (Generative AI and Agentic AI) and the first and only Canadian AWS Partner to hold the AWS Digital Sovereignty Services Competency. We deliver across Canada, the United States and Europe, in English and French, and support Canadian data residency in the AWS Canada (Central) and Canada West (Calgary) Regions.
AWS infrastructure charges
AWS bills you for the resources in your accounts and for the services used to enforce and evidence residency, such as AWS Config, CloudTrail, Security Hub, GuardDuty, AWS KMS keys and backup storage in Canada. We work through IAM roles you create, with every action logged in AWS CloudTrail.
