You pay by the hour for running Traccar on Ubuntu 26.04, with vendor maintenance support included. The 21 pricing options map to different AWS EC2 instance types, not software tiers. Each option pairs the software's hourly rate with a specific instance size and family. Burstable t2 and t3 instances suit variable or light workloads. The c-family targets compute-heavy use, r-family targets memory-heavy use, and m-family balances both. Larger instances within a family carry higher hourly rates. You select the instance that matches your capacity needs, and billing accrues only while the instance runs.
Top-of-mind questions for buyers
What exactly does one hour of billing cover on these plans?
One hour covers the software licence plus the paired AWS EC2 instance running for that hour. Each instance type maps to a set amount of virtual CPU and memory. You pick the instance size, and the hourly software rate applies while that instance runs. Underlying AWS infrastructure charges are billed separately.
Am I charged the hourly rate when my instance is stopped or paused?
The software rate meters only while the instance is running. A stopped instance stops accruing software charges. You may still pay AWS for attached storage on a stopped instance, but that is separate from the software licence, which counts running time only.
Does support for Traccar maintenance cost extra on top of the hourly rate?
The maintenance support from the vendor is included in the hourly software rate. You do not pay a separate line item for it. Support covers version and security updates and help with day-to-day use. For details on scope beyond this, contact the vendor.

An AMI is a virtual image that provides the information required to launch an instance. Amazon EC2 (Elastic Compute Cloud) instances are virtual servers on which you can run your applications and workloads, offering varying combinations of CPU, memory, storage, and networking resources. You can launch as many instances from as many different AMIs as you need.
