You pay by the hour for the EC2 instance size you run, with software support from ThinkCloud included. The 14 options map to AWS T3 and T3a general-purpose instance families. Sizes range from nano and micro up through small, medium, large, xlarge, and 2xlarge. Larger sizes carry more compute and memory, so hourly rates rise as you move up. The T3 and T3a families offer similar sizing steps, letting you match the processor family to your workload. You select one instance size and are billed only for the hours you use.

What does one billing hour cover, and am I charged when the instance is stopped?
You pay for each hour the chosen T3 or T3a instance runs. The software charge meters running time only, so a fully stopped instance stops accruing software fees. Underlying AWS storage or other resources may still bill separately while the instance is stopped.
What is the difference between choosing a T3 versus a T3a instance size?
Both families provide general-purpose compute across the same sizing steps, from nano up to 2xlarge. They differ in the underlying processor family. You select one instance size, matching the family to your workload, and pay the hourly rate for that size.
What is included with the hourly rate beyond the running software?
