S3 Cost Saver - Intelligent Amazon S3 Storage Cost Optimization

     Info
    Deployed on AWS
Scan your Amazon S3 buckets to surface cold, oversized, and archivable objects, then get prioritized, dollar-quantified recommendations to cut your monthly S3 bill. Runs entirely in your own AWS account - strictly read-only, no data ever leaves your environment.

    Overview

S3 Cost Saver is a self-hosted storage-cost analysis tool from PPK TECH LLC that helps AWS teams find and eliminate wasted Amazon S3 spend - without ever moving, modifying, or exfiltrating a single object.

Deployed as a single AMI inside your own AWS account, S3 Cost Saver reads object metadata such as size, age, and storage class through a read-only IAM role and turns it into an executive-ready picture of where your storage dollars are going.

    Features include:

    • Cold-data detection with configurable age thresholds.
    • Dollar-quantified savings recommendations.
    • Cost breakdowns by storage class and bucket.
    • Identification of the largest and most expensive objects.
    • CSV, Excel, and PDF reporting where supported by the selected edition.
    • Dashboard with charts, search, sorting, pagination, and guided setup.

Your data remains inside your AWS environment. The application does not read object contents and does not modify, move, or delete S3 objects.

One AMI supports all four Marketplace contract tiers, with the application edition determined by the Marketplace entitlement.

    Highlights

    • Find cold, archivable, and oversized S3 objects and quantify potential monthly savings in dollars per storage class.
    • Runs inside the customer's AWS account using a read-only IAM role. S3 object contents are not read, moved, modified, or deleted.
    • One AMI supports four annual contract tiers with CSV, Excel, and PDF reporting. Edition determined automatically by Marketplace entitlement.

    Dimensions summary

You choose one of four annual contract tiers, each billed per unit. The tiers build on each other in scope. Basic scans a single bucket with preset thresholds and CSV export. Professional adds all-bucket scanning, custom thresholds, cost analytics, Excel output, and charts. Business includes the full feature set plus PDF export, filters, and advanced search. Enterprise covers all features with unlimited scale and priority support. Pricing scales as you move up the tiers, matching wider scanning coverage, more report formats, and higher support levels to your organization's needs.

    Top-of-mind questions for buyers

A unit is one annual software subscription to the deployed Amazon Machine Image. You launch the AMI into your VPC and it runs inside your account. The unit covers the software licence only. AWS infrastructure costs like EC2, EBS, and networking are billed separately by AWS.
Moving up unlocks wider scanning coverage and more capabilities. Basic scans one bucket; Professional and above scan all buckets. Higher tiers add report formats like Excel and PDF, custom thresholds, filters, and advanced search. Enterprise adds unlimited scale and priority support. Contact the vendor for how transitions apply to your subscription.
No. Charges are set by your chosen tier, not by bucket or object counts. Professional and higher tiers scan all buckets at the same tier price. The software reads only metadata, never object contents, so scanning more data does not raise the software fee. AWS infrastructure costs remain separate.

An AMI is a virtual image that provides the information required to launch an instance. Amazon EC2 (Elastic Compute Cloud) instances are virtual servers on which you can run your applications and workloads, offering varying combinations of CPU, memory, storage, and networking resources.
