You pay by the hour based on the EC2 instance size you run. All twelve options deliver the same browser-based Kali Linux desktop; they differ only in compute capacity. You choose across two families: t2 and t3/t3a burstable instances. Within each family, sizes step up from medium through large, xlarge, and 2xlarge, adding CPU and memory as you scale. Larger sizes cost more per hour. Pick the size that fits your workload, and pay only for the hours you run. There is no upfront commitment or fixed term.
Top-of-mind questions for buyers
Each hour buys one running EC2 instance of your chosen size. It runs a browser-based Kali Linux desktop you reach over noVNC in your web browser. You access it at port 6080 using a password tied to your instance ID. No specialized hardware is needed.
The hourly software charge meters running time only. A stopped instance stops accruing software charges, though AWS storage fees may still apply. No security testing tools ship pre-installed, due to AWS AMI policies. You install toolsets yourself after launch using package commands.
Switching sizes is not automatic. You choose an instance size when you launch, and each size bills at its own hourly rate. To scale up or down, you launch a different size. Your hourly charge changes to match the new size you run.
