Spark FinOps Flash Assessment
Spark EPC FinOps Flash Assessment - Flexera-Powered Cloud Financial Operations Review
The FinOps Flash Assessment is a structured, timeboxed consulting engagement from Spark EPC that evaluates the health, maturity, and effectiveness of your cloud financial operations across AWS, Azure, and GCP. Leveraging Flexera's Cloud Cost Optimisation (CCO) and Cloud License Management (CLM) modules, this assessment delivers actionable findings, risk-based recommendations, and a prioritised roadmap tailored to your environment.
Who This Is For
This assessment is designed for organisations with significant multi-cloud spend who need clarity on cost allocation, governance gaps, and optimisation opportunities. Typical buyers include FinOps Directors, Heads of Cloud, Platform Engineering leads, and CFOs seeking accountability over cloud investment.
Example scenario: An enterprise running workloads across AWS and Azure with annual cloud spend distributed across multiple product teams, struggling to allocate costs accurately, enforce tagging standards, or evaluate commitment coverage (Reserved Instances and Savings Plans). The assessment identifies governance gaps, quantifies addressable spend, and delivers a sequenced improvement plan.
What We Deliver
- Cost transparency and optimisation through Flexera CCO for multi-cloud environments
- Tagging, cost allocation, and showback/chargeback capabilities to improve financial visibility
- Governance enforcement using policies, guardrails, and automation
- Commitment management for Reserved Instances (RIs) and Savings Plans to maximise cost efficiency
- Cloud licensing analysis (BYOL vs PAYG) via Flexera CLM
- Forecasting, budgeting, and sustainability insights including optional Cloud Sustainability and Data Cloud Optimisation modules where applicable
Engagement Structure
The assessment follows a phased approach:
- Discovery - Stakeholder interviews, access provisioning, environment scoping
- Analysis - Review of cost management practices, governance frameworks, tooling, and processes using Flexera modules
- Findings and Roadmap Delivery - Presentation of evidence-based findings, risk-rated recommendations, and a prioritised improvement roadmap
Scope and Prerequisites
Buyer responsibilities:
- Provide read access to cloud billing consoles (AWS, Azure, and/or GCP)
- Supply existing tagging taxonomies and cost allocation structures
- Make key stakeholders available for discovery interviews
- Provide Flexera tenant access where applicable
Exclusions: Implementation of recommendations, ongoing managed services, and tool deployment are not included in this assessment but can be scoped as follow-on engagements.
Outcomes
Outcome 1: Evidence-based view of FinOps health and gaps - Understand what is working, what is risky, and what must change first.
Outcome 2: Prioritised, practical roadmap for FinOps improvement - A sequenced plan balancing cost optimisation, governance enhancement, and operational feasibility.
Outcome 3: Clarity to enable decisions on future FinOps development - Understand FinOps priorities to enable informed plans, trade-offs, and potential benefit realisation.
Data Handling and Security
Spark EPC applies least-privilege access principles when reviewing cloud billing data and cost structures. Engagement data is handled under NDA, and access is limited to the delivery team for the duration of the assessment. Data retention and destruction policies are agreed during scoping.
