AWS Marketplace now accepts line of credit payments through the PNC Vendor Finance program. This program is available to select AWS customers in the US, excluding NV, NC, ND, TN, & VT.
You pay for this facial recognition API based on usage, with two separate billing dimensions. The first charges by the hour for model inference running on an ml.m4.xlarge instance in batch mode. This suits jobs that process grouped images together rather than one at a time. The second charges per inference request, so cost rises with the number of individual match calls you make. You can use either dimension on its own or both together. There is no upfront commitment; charges accrue as you run inference work.
Top-of-mind questions for buyers
What counts as one inference request for the per-request billing dimension?
Each individual match call you send to the API counts as one request. The system compares biometrics to confirm a person is who they claim to be, and that record is enrolled only once where policy requires. Your cost rises directly with the number of these calls.
Am I charged when the batch inference instance is running but processing no images?
The ml.m4.xlarge batch dimension charges per host hour while the instance runs, not per image. Charges accrue for the time the instance stays active, whether or not it processes work. Stopping the instance halts software charges, though underlying AWS storage fees may still apply.
If I use both dimensions together, which one drives most of my bill?
The two dimensions bill independently and both appear on the same invoice. The hourly batch charge dominates when you keep the ml.m4.xlarge instance running for long grouped jobs. The per-request charge dominates when you make many individual match calls through real-time API usage.

An Amazon SageMaker model package is a pre-trained machine learning model ready to use without additional training. Use the model package to create a model on Amazon SageMaker for real-time inference or batch processing. Amazon SageMaker is a fully managed platform for building, training, and deploying machine learning models at scale.
Deploy the model on Amazon SageMaker AI using the following options:
Real-time inference
Deploy the model as an API endpoint for your applications. When you send data to the endpoint, SageMaker processes it and returns results by API response. The endpoint runs continuously until you delete it. You're billed for software and SageMaker infrastructure costs while the endpoint runs. AWS Marketplace models don't support Amazon SageMaker Asynchronous Inference. For more information, see Deploy models for real-time inference .
Batch transform
Deploy the model to process batches of data stored in Amazon Simple Storage Service (Amazon S3). SageMaker runs the job, processes your data, and returns results to Amazon S3. When complete, SageMaker stops the model. You're billed for software and SageMaker infrastructure costs only during the batch job. Duration depends on your model, instance type, and dataset size. AWS Marketplace models don't support Amazon SageMaker Asynchronous Inference. For more information, see Batch transform for inference with Amazon SageMaker AI .
Version release notes
our facematch model utilizes the state-of-the-art ArcFace algorithm to extract embeddings and compute similarity scores for face recognition. The model is trained on a large dataset of face images to learn the optimal representation of face features, and it can be used in real-time for accurate face matching
