    OLA for Nutanix by Insight

     Info
Insight's Optimization and Licensing Assessment (OLA) for Nutanix helps clients reduce licensing and operational costs when migrating virtualized workloads to Nutanix Cloud Clusters on AWS (NC2 on AWS). It assesses the current on-premises and cloud environments based on running resources and provides recommendations to optimize instances and Nutanix licensing.

    Overview

The Optimization and Licensing Assessment (OLA) for Nutanix by Insight Enterprises is a professional services engagement designed to help organizations save on licensing and operational costs when migrating virtualized workloads (including VMware by Broadcom and Nutanix environments) to Nutanix Cloud Clusters on AWS (NC2 on AWS).

Insight Architects deploy AWS Migration Evaluator and Nutanix Collector in your on-premises data center to gather detailed cluster statistics and utilization data. This data is exported to Nutanix Sizer for precise planning and combined with analysis from additional third-party tools to build a comprehensive picture of your current environment.

The engagement follows a structured four-phase methodology:

Phase 1 - Kickoff: Validate project objectives, Establish milestones, Confirm remote connectivity requirements, and Introduce the Discovery Document.

Phase 2 - Discovery and Planning: Deploy data collection tools, gather license agreements and contract details, and hold stakeholder discussions to understand your current state.

Phase 3 - Optimization Analysis: Identify opportunities to reduce CPU configurations, leverage BYOL, eliminate overprovisioning, and determine the best Nutanix licensing configuration for NC2 on AWS. Recommendations may include migration to AWS Cloud Native, Amazon Elastic VMware Service (EVS), NC2 on AWS, or Red Hat OpenShift Service on AWS (ROSA).

Phase 4 - Document Transfer and Closure: Deliver a two-hour interactive training session reviewing the build-as document, recommended architecture, migration pathways, ARR and TCO estimates, and contract renewal recommendations.

Key deliverables include a build-as document, current state vs. optimized state comparison, TCO/ROI analysis, licensing optimization summary, recommended migration pathways, risk considerations, and architecture diagrams where applicable.

All services are performed remotely with an estimated timeline of three weeks after project start. This engagement is 100% fully funded by AWS.
