Overview
This product provides AWS Command Line Interface (AWS CLI) v2 integrated with CentOS Stream 9 and delivered as an Amazon Machine Image (AMI) by Hanwei. The image applies Hanwei's versioned security-hardening and optimized performance baseline and is prepared without embedded AWS customer credentials or account-specific CLI configuration.
Marketplace software charges cover Hanwei's AWS CLI and operating-system integration, application of the security-hardening and optimized performance baseline, credential-free image preparation, AMI construction, and bounded CLI validation. Hanwei support, including a 24-hour response target, is supplementary and is not the sole basis for the software charges.
What Hanwei Adds to the Upstream Software
- AWS CLI and operating-system integration: AWS CLI v2 is installed and prepared on CentOS Stream 9 as an EC2 AMI. The published release identifies the exact AWS CLI version, architecture, installation source, and package checksum.
- Credential-free image preparation: The published AMI contains no AWS access key ID, secret access key, session token, SSO cache, customer profile, copied credentials file, or account-specific endpoint configuration. Customers supply authorization after launch.
- Security-hardening baseline: Hanwei applies a versioned CentOS Stream 9 profile covering SELinux, key-only SSH access, restricted SSH settings, audit logging, kernel controls, and secret scanning.
- Optimized performance configuration: The standardized CentOS profile configures resource, memory-map, network-queue, socket-buffer, TCP idle, and system-journal limits. These operating-system settings do not imply faster AWS API responses, which depend on the service, region, network, request, throttling, and customer account.
- CLI validation: Final-image verification covers AWS CLI version output, help and command parsing, configuration-file permissions, credential absence, instance-role credential discovery when a test role is attached, and a bounded identity request against the configured AWS region.
- Supplementary support: Hanwei provides support with a 24-hour response target. This service supplements the integrated and tested image and is not the sole basis for the Marketplace charges.

Amazon Machine Image (AMI)
An AMI is a virtual image that provides the information required to launch an instance. Amazon EC2 (Elastic Compute Cloud) instances are virtual servers on which you can run your applications and workloads, offering varying combinations of CPU, memory, storage, and networking resources.
