Overview: The aircraft maintenance engineering process involves referring to a wide range of documents, such as aircraft operations manuals, maintenance procedures, service bulletins, airworthiness directives etc. Most of the existing search systems focus on searching for specific documents based on various filters and key word-based search. In addition, the availability of the required content within the document requires opening each of the documents and going through various sections of the documents. It is time consuming and laborious process. Infosys Aviation Knowledge Assistant is intended to focus on getting the right content from this huge repository for the questions asked by the end user. In addition to providing the right answers to the questions, the system will also provide the appropriate references i.e., documents from where these answers were derived from.
Key Features: Infosys Aviation Knowledge Assistant provides capabilities to find most relevant documents (such as Airworthiness Directives (ADs)) based on various criteria (aircraft model, problem etc.). It also helps in getting answers to various questions on aviation documents, such as answers to airworthiness compliance related questions (Issues, reasons, applicability, compliance action etc.). The solution aims to understand the intent and semantics of questions using large language models and knowledge graphs to offer precise responses. Key features of the solution include - Context based semantic search, aviation domain focused, conversational chatbot experience with context management, providing traceability of generated answers to the original sources of information in the document, enabling deeper analysis and exploration with support for follow-on question answering.
Benefits: The solution is reducing maintenance engineering effort in searching, interpreting, and summarizing the content from various documents, thus enabling faster decisions in aviation maintenance engineering.
