Overview
High-Performance Packet Analysis for Network Visibility and Security: LiveWire is a high-performance packet analysis solution designed to capture and store detailed packet data, providing deep network and application performance insights as well as advanced forensic analysis. By deploying LiveWire across critical network segments-including data centers, SD-WAN edges, cloud environments, and remote sites-NetOps and SecOps teams gain real-time, granular visibility to ensure optimal network performance and security.
Deep Packet Analysis with Powerful Insights: LiveWire continuously captures real-time packet data, enabling in-depth forensic analysis with an intuitive interface, advanced visualizations, built-in workflows, and an expert-driven analytics engine. Designed to accelerate troubleshooting, it provides comprehensive packet-level insights for rapid issue resolution and enhanced network forensics.
Seamless Integration with LiveNX for End-to-End Network Intelligence: Beyond packet capture, LiveWire enhances network visibility by enriching packet data and seamlessly integrating with LiveAction's LiveNX network observability platform. This integration allows teams to transition effortlessly between flow-level and forensic-level analysis, ensuring rapid identification and resolution of application performance issues-including VoIP and video quality problems-without requiring deep forensic investigation.
With LiveWire and LiveNX, enterprises gain a unified, AI-driven approach to network performance monitoring and security, ensuring networks remain resilient, optimized, and protected.
Highlights
- Achieve Detailed Visibility: Make the highest quality flow data available from anywhere in your network, especially your most critical segments, to increase visibility and decrease MTTR. Scalable packet flow data delivers detailed visibility from anywhere across the network, including data centers, WAN edge, cloud, and remote sites.
- Accelerate Troubleshooting: Detailed troubleshooting requires detailed data, and for network and application troubleshooting, the most detailed data available are the network packets themselves. Workflows and automation drive users to the root cause of network and application issues, increasing productivity and reducing the number of solutions (or screens) needed to solve problems.
- Optimize Security and Compliance: Standards compliance and security investigations require the most comprehensive data available, the network packets, to effectively investigate and report on issues, whether for routine reporting, detailed investigation, or unequivocal proof.

64-bit (x86) Amazon Machine Image (AMI)
Amazon Machine Image (AMI)
An AMI is a virtual image that provides the information required to launch an instance. Amazon EC2 (Elastic Compute Cloud) instances are virtual servers on which you can run your applications and workloads, offering varying combinations of CPU, memory, storage, and networking resources. You can launch as many instances from as many different AMIs as you need.

Usage instructions
-
Open the Amazon EC2 console at https://console.aws.amazon.com/ec2/ .
-
From the Amazon EC2 console dashboard, choose "Launch Instance".
-
(Optional) Under Name and Tags, for Name, enter a descriptive name for your LiveWire instance.
-
Under Application and OS Images (Amazon Machine Image), choose Browse More AMIs, then select the AWS Marketplace AMIs tab. Search for "LiveWire", select the image, and click Select.
-
Choose "Subscribe on instance launch" or "Subscribe now".
-
For Instance Type, select the desired instance type or use the recommended one.
-
Under Key Pair (Login), for Key Pair Name, choose an existing key pair or create a new one.
-
Under Network Settings, select the automatically created security group. We recommend adjusting these rules to allow access only from a specific address or range of addresses. If you choose to create a new security group, ensure that inbound and outbound access is configured according to the requirements listed in the LiveWire Getting Started Guide.
-
Under Configure Storage, expand the 100GB data volume to your desired size and change the volume type to General Purpose SSD (gp2) or better.
-
In the Summary panel, under Software Image (AMI), specify the number of instances you wish to launch. Also, review the other configuration details you specified. When you're ready to launch your instance, choose "Launch Instance".
-
Once the instance is in the running state, ssh into device and reconfigure the admin users password; 'sudo passwd admin'
-
Use a web browser to access the application at https://<EC2_Instance_Public_DNS>
