Amplify Gen 1 Modernization: Migrate to Gen 2 or Beyond

Benjamin Inc., an AWS Advanced Consulting Partner, provides an end-to-end Amplify Gen 1 migration service that goes beyond assessment — our certified engineers take ownership of your source code and execute the full migration on your behalf, delivering a production-ready Gen 2 application (or a re-architected AWS solution where Gen 2 is not the best fit).

After an initial assessment phase, our team writes the code, rebuilds the backend definitions, migrates AppSync schemas, Cognito user pools, Lambda functions, storage, hosting, and CI/CD pipelines, and validates the result against your existing application behavior. You receive a fully migrated, tested, and deployable codebase — not a slide deck.

For legacy Gen 1 applications where migrating directly to Gen 2 is not optimal (for example, applications with complex custom resources, multi-tenant architectures, or workloads that have outgrown the Amplify framework), our consultants design and implement an alternative AWS architecture leveraging the same AWS expertise that makes us effective Amplify specialists.

Service phases

1. Assessment & Architecture Consulting — codebase analysis, dependency mapping, risk identification, and recommendation of either Gen 2 migration or an alternative AWS architecture.
2. Migration Planning — detailed migration plan, schedule, rollback strategy, and acceptance criteria.
3. Hands-On Implementation — full code migration executed by our engineers, including backend, frontend, auth, data, storage, functions, and CI/CD.
4. Testing & Cutover — functional/regression testing, staged deployment, and production cutover with zero downtime.
5. Post-Migration Support — knowledge transfer, documentation, and optional ongoing support.
