You pay by the hour for this platform, with billing tied to the running compute instance you choose. Two instance types are available: m5.2xlarge and m6i.2xlarge. Both represent different underlying EC2 hardware generations, so you pick the one that fits your performance and cost needs. Pricing scales with how many hours each instance runs. There are no tiers or feature levels to select here. Your total cost depends on your chosen instance type and the time it stays active.
Top-of-mind questions for buyers
The hourly rate meters the running software on your chosen EC2 instance. It includes the orchestration platform with workflow design, scheduling, monitoring, fault tolerance, and role-based access control. Underlying AWS compute and storage are billed separately by AWS. You pay for both the software hours and the AWS infrastructure.
Hourly software charges apply only while the instance runs. A stopped or paused instance does not accrue software charges. Note that stopped instances may still incur underlying AWS storage fees, but the software meter counts running time only.
Both run the same platform and bill per hour. They differ only in the underlying EC2 hardware generation. The m6i.2xlarge uses a newer processor family, which can affect throughput and concurrency for heavy workflow loads. Pick based on the performance and cost balance your workloads need.

- Launch the product via CloudFormation
- Access the application via a browser at http://<public_dns>:12345/dolphinscheduler.
- Sign in using the following credentials:
- Default admin username is "user" and password is EC2 instance id.
- After you login success, you can change the password and create new user.
When using CloudFormation to delivery, WhaleScheduler will create below resources:
