AWS Marketplace now accepts line of credit payments through the PNC Vendor Finance program. This program is available to select AWS customers in the US, excluding NV, NC, ND, TN, & VT.
Pricing is based on actual usage, with charges varying according to how much you consume. Subscriptions have no end date and may be canceled any time. Alternatively, you can pay upfront for a contract, which typically covers your anticipated usage for the contract duration. Any usage beyond contract will incur additional usage-based costs.
Additional AWS infrastructure costs may apply. Use the AWS Pricing Calculator to estimate your infrastructure costs.
You pay by the hour based on the EC2 instance type you run. Pricing scales with compute size across three instance families: t2 and t3 burstable instances, and m3, m4, and m5 general-purpose instances. Within each family, larger sizes (from large up to 24xlarge) carry higher hourly rates because they provide more CPU and memory. You choose the instance that fits your workload, and billing follows actual usage hours. There are no upfront commitments or fixed terms; you pay only for the hours each instance runs.
Top-of-mind questions for buyers
What does one instance-hour cover for billing?
One instance-hour means one running EC2 instance of the type you chose, metered for each hour it runs. The rate reflects that instance's CPU and memory size. Running two instances at once bills two separate hourly rates. Billing follows actual running hours, not calendar time.
Am I charged when the instance is stopped or powered off?
Software charges apply only while an instance runs. Stopped or powered-off instances do not accrue hourly software charges. You may still pay underlying AWS fees for attached storage while the instance is stopped. The software meter counts running hours only.
Is support from the vendor included in the hourly rate?
The hourly rate covers running the software on your chosen EC2 instance. Hossted offers separate enterprise support plans for open-source applications, with troubleshooting, severity-based response times, and a dedicated account manager. These support options are arranged with the vendor and are not part of the hourly instance charge.

An AMI is a virtual image that provides the information required to launch an instance. Amazon EC2 (Elastic Compute Cloud) instances are virtual servers on which you can run your applications and workloads, offering varying combinations of CPU, memory, storage, and networking resources. You can launch as many instances from as many different AMIs as you need.
