Disappointment
I am not new to bitnami at AWS, but this time disappointment as documentation and machine is poorly configured and not help in community provided.
I just want to simply change the root from htdocs to htdocs/public
but this AMI found a poor choice of mine. Not recommended.
Very easy to set up and maintain
This instance is incredibly easy to set up and maintain, and the bitnami website has a ton of excellent documentation. One thing to note about this instance is that there is a lot of configuration already done, so if you are looking to do things like install memcached, set up SSL, or backup postgresql, it's a good idea to look at the documentation on their website before searching the web for general-purpose solutions.
Easy to set up
I found the image was very easy to get running quickly, and was soon able to access the PG database. However, I then tried to set up Movable Type on it, and found everything wasn't quite where I was expecting it, which caused me to do more SysAdmin work than I expected. If you know what you're doing then it's fantastic, but I didn't and it caused me more work than I expected. Don't know of anyone who would be able to make it any easier for me though!
