Deploy TimescaleDB with Grafana and Prometheus on AWS to enable high-performance, real-time analytics on time-series and event data. This AMI extends PostgreSQL with TimescaleDB features like hypertables, columnar storage, and continuous aggregates - ideal for IoT, finance, SaaS, DevOps, and other data-intensive applications.
In addition, this preconfigured stack includes Grafana for visualization and Prometheus for monitoring and alerting. Together, they provide a powerful environment for ingesting, storing, analyzing, and visualizing time-series metrics at scale.
Our setup integrates IAM roles, Route 53 DNS, and Let's Encrypt SSL for secure, browser-based access. The AMI is optimized to support scalable workloads with low latency and reduced storage costs, using native compression and tiered storage options.
Key Features
Instant Deployment: Launch a fully functional TimescaleDB, Grafana, and Prometheus stack on AWS EC2 in minutes.
Time-Series Optimized: Hypertables, columnar storage, and continuous aggregates for analytics.
PostgreSQL Compatibility: Works with PostgreSQL tools, queries, and extensions.
Integrated Monitoring: Prometheus collects real-time metrics, Grafana provides dashboards.

TimescaleDB Deployment on AWS EC2
TimescaleDB runs on a single EC2 instance with IAM, Route 53, and Let's Encrypt SSL pre-configured. It provides secure, browser-based access via a custom domain ideal for teams deploying real-time, scalable time-series analytics on AWS.
CloudFormation Template (CFT)
AWS CloudFormation templates are JSON or YAML-formatted text files that simplify provisioning and management on AWS. The templates describe the service or application architecture you want to deploy, and AWS CloudFormation uses those templates to provision and configure the required services (such as Amazon EC2 instances or Amazon RDS DB instances). The deployed application and associated resources are called a "stack."
