Overview
Lineate designs, builds, and operates a production-grade data lakehouse on AWS tailored to your business. Our proven architecture pattern has been deployed across industries including hospitality (80+ hotel properties, 10 hotel brands), corporate operations (Salesforce, BambooHR, QuickBooks, timesheets), and healthcare advertising (86B+ daily event records).
Engagement Process
Our engagements follow a structured, phased approach so you know exactly what to expect:
Phase 1 - Discovery & Architecture Design (Weeks 1-3) We conduct a data audit of your source systems, define integration requirements, and deliver an Architecture Blueprint with a detailed TCO estimate covering S3 storage, Glue DPU consumption, QuickSight licensing, Lambda compute, and infrastructure components.
Phase 2 - Build & Deploy (Weeks 4-10) We build your data lake, ETL pipelines, data quality rulesets, and BI dashboards. All infrastructure is deployed as code via Terraform and AWS CodeBuild across your multi-account environment.
Phase 3 - Validation & Handoff (Weeks 11-12) We validate data quality, conduct user acceptance testing, deliver operational runbooks, and train your team on dashboard usage and pipeline monitoring.
Typical engagements run 8-12 weeks depending on the number of source systems and complexity of transformations.
Architecture & AWS Services
- Data Lake (Amazon S3): Three-tier bucket structure (Raw - Stage - Final) with configurable retention policies and lifecycle rules. Supports infrequent-access and archive storage classes for cost optimization.
- ETL Pipelines (AWS Glue): Python shell jobs (0.0625 DPU for small datasets) and PySpark jobs (1+ DPU for large-scale transformations). A typical deployment includes 150+ Python and 50+ Spark Glue jobs orchestrated on schedule.
- Data Catalog & Quality (AWS Glue Data Catalog, Lake Formation, Glue Data Quality): Automated schema discovery via Crawlers, centralized metadata catalog, row/column-level access control via Lake Formation, and automated data quality rulesets with alerting.
- Orchestration (AWS Step Functions, EventBridge): Multi-step pipeline orchestration with error handling, retry logic, and scheduled triggers.

- Ad-Hoc Querying (Amazon Athena): SQL-based querying directly against the data lake. Proven at scale processing 66+ TB/month of scanned data.
- Security & Governance: AWS Secrets Manager, KMS encryption, VPC isolation, CloudWatch monitoring, and multi-account separation.
