Overview
Overview
Loki is a horizontally-scalable, highly-available log aggregation system inspired by Prometheus. Unlike other logging systems, Loki only indexes metadata about your logs (labels), not the contents of the log lines themselves. This design choice makes it incredibly cost-effective to operate and query.
Features
- Horizontally scalable architecture that grows with your infrastructure
- LogQL query language for powerful log analysis and filtering
- Native integration with Grafana for visualization and alerting
- Multi-tenancy support for enterprise environments
- Cost-effective storage by indexing only metadata, not log content
- Prometheus-style service discovery and configuration
Getting Started
Deploy Loki on port 3100 and configure your applications to send logs via Promtail, Fluentd, or direct API calls. Connect to Grafana for immediate log visualization and create alerts based on log patterns. Perfect for microservices, Kubernetes environments, and distributed systems monitoring.
