An ML-powered solution to analyze your current virtual instances configuration and lifecycle, and give per-resource optimization tips with potential cost changes.
The community version allows using data for up to 7 days of usage metrics and meta as inputs for VMs, DBs and unlimited recommendations
EPAM Syndicate RightSizer is an ML-empowered offering that reviews the existing infrastructure resources in terms of their configuration, workload, and lifecycle, and produces the recommendations to fine-tune the resources to match the workload patterns, all accompanied by expected cost savings/raise. Hosted on AWS, it works across multiple cloud providers.
The recommendation is a per-resource or per-resource group list of possible actions to perform of the following types:
Resize (scale up or scale down) instance - change the instance type within the current family
Split - split a single instance workload into several instances, each facing a specific workload type for it
Schedule - create start/stop schedules for the instance to be cost effective without affecting its capacity
Shut down - terminate the instance due to the low to no load
The recommendations are built based on up to 90 days of instances performance story, which increases the accuracy of the recommendations (as compared to the tools with the shorter timeframe coverage). Syndicate RightSizer tailors its recommendations based on the customer's previous responses, ensuring it avoids suggesting changes that are likely to be seen as not useful or relevant according to the resource usage context.
The recommendations are available via RESTful API, .csv files or via CLI tool.
The small underlying infrastructure (two EC2 instances and two S3 buckets, with minimum permissions) allows to get high value with minimum effect on the budget.
The solution API can be used for effective convenient integrations and additional visualization.
Highlights
ML-empowered engine - analyses instances' daily workload and capacity to figure out if any optimization is possible. Reinforcement learning allows customizing the recommendations based on the past customer inputs and usage context.
Multiple recommendation types - receive suggestions on up/down scaling, scheduling, splitting the workload or shutdown, accompanied by expected effect on infrastructure cost.
Customers can use a single tool across multiple clouds for infrastructure load assessment and instances optimization.
AWS Marketplace now accepts line of credit payments through the PNC Vendor Finance program. This program is available to select AWS customers in the US, excluding NV, NC, ND, TN, & VT.
Pricing is based on a fixed monthly subscription cost and actual usage of the product. You pay the same amount each month for access, plus an additional monthly amount for usage. Usage charges vary according to how much you consume. The fixed subscription cost is prorated, so you're only charged for the number of days you've been subscribed. Subscriptions have no end date and may be canceled any time.
Additional AWS infrastructure costs may apply. Use the AWS Pricing Calculator to estimate your infrastructure costs.

CloudFormation Template (CFT)
AWS CloudFormation templates are JSON or YAML-formatted text files that simplify provisioning and management on AWS. The templates describe the service or application architecture you want to deploy, and AWS CloudFormation uses those templates to provision and configure the required services (such as Amazon EC2 instances or Amazon RDS DB instances). The deployed application and associated resources are called a "stack."
This version is provided free of charge under Apache-2.0 license and and relies on community-based assistance.
