Overview
Copia delivers an Industrial DevOps platform consisting of git-based source control and automated device backup made specifically for industrial devices. Copia works natively with industrial code, providing full visibility and control into the code running their automation systems. Examples of supported vendors are Rockwell, Siemens, Codesys, FANUC, Schneider, and more. Additionally, Copia supports text based files, as well as IEC 61131-3 languages.
Specifically, DeviceLink enables organizations to backup industrial devices and securely store them in the cloud, ensuring that the code on industrial devices matches the code stored in their Copia Source Control tool. DeviceLink has been saving raw engineering hours wasted on understanding which code is the right version, overall reduction in production downtime, and enables smoother collaboration between teams (internal and external).
Copia's DeviceLink has an easy-to-read rendering solution that quickly highlights differences between backups. This reduces the overall amount of downtime and can help prevent product recalls based on unauthorized code changes to industrial devices. Copia's solution also enables code-to-device validation faster than before. With notifications and smart filtering, controls and automation professionals can quickly respond to changes and revert to previous versions quickly. With 50% of production downtime being attributed to unauthorized code changes, DeviceLink increases visibility and control of the devices running your production/facility.
Amazon Fulfillment shared in a joint blog post that they expect to reduce 80% of unexpected downtime due to PLC code errors.
