Fun and Easy to Use-Lovable Generates a Great Base Repo

What do you like best about the product?
I tested Lovable, and after generating the “base,” I cloned the repo and adapted it to run with self-hostable services.
It went surprisingly well. The code Lovable produced was easy to adjust; most of the work was around using a proper .env, setting up docker compose and a Dockerfile, and putting the right middleware in place. Overall, it wasn’t too bad.
For projects, I usually create the base repo myself using my own templates, but it was fun to let Lovable handle that part too.
I normally don’t like this kind of tool, but it was fun and easy to use, so why not.

Lovable works in SPA mode, but that mode is a total nightmare if you depend on SEO. Honestly, just don’t use Lovable if you want SEO traffic.
Instead, use v0 from Vercel. It works in a similar way to Lovable, but it runs in full Next.js, so SEO won’t become an issue.

What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I have been working with Lovable since the end of October 2025. I have to say it's amazing what we can now do by prompting an AI to code, such leaps in technology in such a short time. However, that is where my praise will end, for now. I am not new to web design; I was writing static HTML and using WordPress for almost 20 years. I studied Java and C++ at Uni. But I am not a developer; let's make that clear. I just know my way around websites, SEO and related disciplines. What I want to do in the following thread is lay out how Lovable went from an amazing UI fast development environment ... of low-level pages. Into a hodgepodge of poor code, unconnected functions, missing logic and prompts/commands which were never executed as requested.

What do you like best about the product?
I love how easy it is to create with Lovable. As an engineer, I can build any app I want in a couple of minutes and figure out if it's worth a proper investment much faster. It helps me visualize my ideas super fast. The initial setup was super easy—all you need to do is describe your idea.

What do you like best about the product?
I love that with Lovable, I don't have to code, which allows me to concentrate more on functionality and how I actually want the system to work and perform. It's fantastic that Lovable just does everything for me, and the preview mode is great, letting me fully develop an application before releasing it. Setting up Lovable was incredibly easy, practically like there was no setup at all.
What do you dislike about the product?
I found deploying some of the connectors a little difficult. Connecting a domain to my application was tricky the first time, and even though I am quite technical, I don't think that somebody without technical knowledge would be able to achieve that without using Lovable support.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Lovable creates professional, fully functional applications quickly, eliminating the need for a team of developers. I don't have to code, allowing me to focus more on functionality. The preview mode is fantastic for developing and releasing applications.

Very easy to use, fast, the team is great, was one of the first to use the desktop app which now saves me a tonne of resources rather then using the browser, love the speed on which this company is growing
