Bitfount is an enterprise-grade federated AI and data science platform that enables secure, privacy-preserving data collaboration across organizational and internal silos without moving or sharing raw data. Built for teams that need to analyze sensitive or regulated datasets behind firewalls, Bitfount brings models to the data, unlocking the full MLOps and analytics lifecycle - including federated inference, analytics, training, fine-tuning of foundation models and model/dataset evaluation - while maintaining data control and rigorous governance.
With Bitfount, organizations can connect disparate data sources - structured, unstructured, tabular, or imaging formats - and run complex AI or analytics tasks entirely on-premise or in cloud environments. The platform offers flexible deployment via a no-code desktop app, a Python SDK, or docker containers, letting data scientists and governance teams start collaborating securely in minutes without opening firewall ports or exposing sensitive information. Built-in privacy-enhancing technologies (PETs), zero-trust architecture, granular role-based access control, and end-to-end encryption ensure compliance with GDPR, HIPAA, ISO/IEC 27001, and other regulatory frameworks.
Bitfount empowers enterprise analytics, federated machine learning, cross-organization data projects, and secure AI model training, fine-tuning and inference. Analysts and data scientists can run federated jobs, evaluate models across distributed datasets, and share results - all while preserving data sovereignty and minimizing risk. This approach dramatically accelerates collaboration across teams, departments, or partners in industries such as healthcare, life sciences, finance, and research, where data privacy and security are paramount.
Highlights
- Federated AI & Privacy-Preserving Analytics - Run advanced analytics and federated machine learning directly on distributed data sources behind the firewall, eliminating data movement while preserving data sovereignty, security, and regulatory compliance.
- Enterprise-Ready Secure Data Collaboration - Built with privacy-enhancing technologies, zero-trust architecture, and role-based access control, Bitfount enables compliant, scalable AI and data science workflows across organizations and cloud or on-prem environments.
- Easy Deployment & No-Code Experience - Get started in minutes with flexible deployment options including desktop app, private cloud, or on-prem environments. Bitfount's no-code interface and Python SDK make federated AI and analytics accessible to both data scientists and non-technical users, with no complex infrastructure setup required.

64-bit (x86) Amazon Machine Image (AMI)
Amazon Machine Image (AMI)
An AMI is a virtual image that provides the information required to launch an instance. Amazon EC2 (Elastic Compute Cloud) instances are virtual servers on which you can run your applications and workloads, offering varying combinations of CPU, memory, storage, and networking resources. You can launch as many instances from as many different AMIs as you need.

Usage instructions
Once your EC2 instance is running, set up your Bitfount Dataset as follows.
- Mount your data to the EC2 instance (for example, attach and mount an EBS volume or use your preferred storage method).
- Create your Dataset Configuration at https://am.hub.bitfount.com/datasets/create .
- Upload your dataset configuration to the EC2 instance as ~/config.yaml (for example, using SCP, SFTP, or AWS Systems Manager).
Your dataset configuration (~/config.yaml) contains your dataset's API keys, so it's important to keep it secure.
After your configuration is uploaded and the application is running, you can run tasks on your dataset. For running tasks, security, and encryption details, see our in-depth guides: https://docs.bitfount.com/guides/getting-started/about-bitfount
