This is a repackaged open-source software product wherein additional charges apply for support and for providing it in a simple consumable AMI. Jenkins is a Continuous Integration(CI) server written in Java for testing and reporting on isolated changes in a larger code base in real-time. Dimensions summary
You pay by the hour for a pre-packaged Jenkins continuous integration server running on Windows Server 2022. Pricing is charged per running hour and includes 24/7 support. The many dimensions are not tiers or feature levels. Each one maps to a different AWS EC2 instance size, from small burstable types like t2 and t3 to compute-optimized c5 and c6 families, memory-optimized r5 and r6 families, and general-purpose m-series up to metal sizes. You choose the instance that fits your workload. Larger instances carry more compute and memory, so your hourly rate scales with the instance you select.
Top-of-mind questions for buyers
The hourly rate covers the pre-packaged Jenkins software, the hardened Windows Server 2022 image, and 24/7 support. The underlying EC2 compute for your chosen instance is billed separately by AWS. Storage, Elastic IP, and data transfer also appear as separate AWS line items.
The software fee meters running time only. When you stop the instance, the hourly software charge does not accrue. Attached storage and an allocated Elastic IP may still incur AWS charges while the instance is stopped, since those are billed by AWS separately.
Larger instances add compute power and memory, not extra Jenkins features. Every instance runs the same pre-packaged software, hardened image, and 24/7 support. You choose the size that fits your build workload. The hourly rate scales with the instance you select.
