This listing is free software, so you pay no charge for the operating system itself. The many line items you see are not pricing tiers. Each one maps to a specific AWS EC2 instance type, billed by the hour. Your cost comes only from the AWS compute you select, charged at AWS rates. A small instance costs less per hour than a large one. So your total scales with the size and running time of the instance you run, not with any software fee.
Top-of-mind questions for buyers
What do the many instance-type line items represent for billing?
Each line item maps to one AWS EC2 instance type, billed by the hour. The software itself carries no license fee. You pick an instance size that fits your workload. Your charge reflects the AWS compute rate for that instance, not any payment to the software vendor.
Am I charged for the software when my instance is stopped or idle?
The software has no fee at any time, so stopping an instance removes no software charge because none exists. Hourly compute charges stop accruing when the instance is stopped. AWS storage fees may still apply for the volume attached to a stopped instance.
Can I get vendor support even though the operating system is free to use?
Yes. The operating system stays free to use, and the vendor offers paid support services separately for buyers who want them. This includes support from the vendor's engineers and extended support beyond the standard period. These support services are arranged outside this free listing.

An AMI is a virtual image that provides the information required to launch an instance. Amazon EC2 (Elastic Compute Cloud) instances are virtual servers on which you can run your applications and workloads, offering varying combinations of CPU, memory, storage, and networking resources. You can launch as many instances from as many different AMIs as you need.

This AlmaLinux 9 Latest image comes with added charges for the security hardening and optimization carried out by ProComputers. It is aimed at teams that want an enterprise Linux server on Amazon EC2 without spending hours on patching and baseline setup. On first boot, the image automatically installs the newest security updates, so each instance comes online running the most protected release available at that moment. Cloud-init, Elastic Network Adapter drivers, and SELinux in enforcing mode are already in place, and access is through ec2-user with an SSH key. Updates flow from the official AlmaLinux 9 repositories via dnf, and RHEL 9 compatibility lets existing software move over without rework. From web stacks and databases to build servers, Alma Linux 9 offers a calm, predictable foundation that ProComputers retests and republishes on a steady cadence.
This Rocky Linux 9 LVM image has charges associated with it for security hardening and optimization provided by ProComputers. Its root disk is configured with LVM (Logical Volume Manager), so you can grow file systems and extend volumes while the instance keeps running, giving developers and administrators more control over storage on AWS. Capacity can be added, rearranged, or split into separate logical volumes without rebuilding the server. The image includes cloud-init, ENA networking, and SELinux in enforcing mode, with packages delivered from the official Rocky Linux 9 repositories. For databases, file services, and other storage-heavy applications, Rocky 9 offers an enterprise-compatible base with a long support lifecycle. ProComputers tests and updates the image on a regular basis for reliable deployments across AWS regions.
