The Well-Architected Framework Review (WAFR) solves one big challenge: how can you make sure that your AWS setup is secure and optimized? WAFR is an in-depth review that covers all the AWS Well-Architected Framework Pillars: Cost Optimization, Security, Performance Efficiency, Operational Excellence, Reliability, and Sustainability, with the purpose of getting a detailed outline of the current setup and highlighting the parts that can be improved, with the purpose of being aligned with all the AWS best practices. Ankercloud will take care of performing the review, remediate the High-Risk Issues (HRIs) found, and produce relevant documentation that can be shown to the stakeholders to certify that your infrastructure complies with AWS Security standards and best practices.
Overview
The Well-Architected Framework Review (WAFR) process starts with an initial call, during which Ankercloud’s team will learn more about your AWS setup and specific needs. A complete overview of the WAFR will be presented, with a special focus on the advantages and potential business outcomes.
Ankercloud’s team will also be happy and available to answer all the potential questions.
After the initial requirements gathering, the WAFR process will then follow these steps:
- Review and Milestone Report 1: Ankercloud will ask for Read-only access to your account, will perform the complete review, and will generate the first report with no major effort required from your side.
- HRIs Workshop: the results will be presented and explained in detail during a collaborative workshop, with a special focus on presenting the High-Risk Issues (HRIs) found and outlining a detailed action plan to improve the setup.
- Remediations: Ankercloud will remediate at least 45% of the HRIs, according to the specific needs agreed upon during the HRIs Workshop.
- Review and Milestone Report 2: after the remediations, Ankercloud will conduct the review again and generate a second report to demonstrate the improvements implemented
Effort required from you:
- IAM User creation for our Solution Architect to access your account
- 2-4 Hours for the initial discussion and the HRIs Workshop
- Optional: Last 3-months AWS billing invoices (for cost optimization recommendations)
Deliverables:
- Milestone Report 1: answers to 58 questions divided into all the 6 AWS Pillars, with relevant documentation and improvement plan
- Audit Report: summarizing all the HRIs, with an overview of the actions that can be taken by Ankercloud and related recommendations
- HRIs Workshop: a detailed explanation of the HRIs and criticality
- Remediations: Ankercloud will take care of solving at least 45% of the HRI
- Milestone Report 2: generated after the remediations have been taken, to show stakeholders that the setup is optimized and secure.
