Overview
Overview:
COVID-19 US state-by-state projections
This offering is exclusively for use by non-commercial organizations.
The Institute for Health Metrics and Evaluation (IHME) at the University of Washington is regularly updating data on the current and projected spread of coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19), and on related on hospital resource needs versus capacity. The projections are designed to assist all those wishing to track the progression of this disease in the USA; the analysis is designed especially to help decision-makers prepare for and respond to a surge in cases and deaths by projecting, in addition to daily death counts, peak needs against peak capacity for, bed use, ICU use, and ventilator use. As the spread of the virus is rapidly changing, we are gathering new data, updating our models and producing new projections daily for as many locations as possible. This listing contains COVID-19 US state projections.
Data sets:
Data Sets contain findings generated by IHME’s COVID-19 analytic work. All data within the Data Sets will be population-level and no individual or identifiable health information will be included. This study used data on confirmed COVID-19 deaths by day from the World Health Organization (WHO) and local and national governments, data on hospital capacity and utilization for US states, and observed COVID-19 utilization data from select locations to develop a statistical model forecasting deaths and hospital utilization against capacity by state for the US over a future 4-month period.
- A new revision will be published regularly, these revisions are not guaranteed to have updated data.
Commercial organizations wishing to acquire a license to access and download IHME data, including IHME's COVID-19 projections, should contact services@healthdata.org. IHME data available for use by commercial organizations through a license.
The Global Burden of Disease (GBD) study produces comprehensive and comparable estimates of health conditions around the globe, estimates that are informing real-world policy and implementation. Condition-specific data available for 195 country locations and a further 700 subnational units, including all the states of the US.
