State, Local, and Education (SLED) Optimization and Licensing Assessment

     Info

    Overview

State, Local Government, and Education (SLED) organizations have unique needs and challenges when it comes to cloud adoption and migration. WWT’s SLED Optimization and Licensing Assessment is designed for organizations seeking to move their existing workloads to AWS and optimize existing workloads on AWS. This OLA is meant to optimize licensing and compute costs, allowing organizations to operate within budget constraints. The OLA also helps ensure that the proposed migration strategy complies with regulations and security standards – mitigating potential risks and ensuring data protection.

Workloads we optimize in an OLA:

    • Microsoft SQL Server and Windows Server on Amazon EC2
    • VMware Cloud on AWS
    • Oracle Database and Oracle business applications

    Deliverables Include:

    • Scope Workloads – Determine prospective workloads to optimize. The OLA identifies workloads in your environment, regardless of platform, application, or geography.

    • Collect Data – Collect utilization data for workloads using Migration Evaluator and other tools.

    • Analyze – WWT will analyze the results and create optimization scenarios.

    • Plan – WWT will review the results of your OLA and build a case for resource optimization, cost reduction, and licensing optimization.
