Dimensions summary
You pay by the hour based on the EC2 instance type you run. The 18 options are not feature tiers; they are different compute sizes. The t2, t3, and t3a families suit general-purpose or burstable workloads, while the m3 and m4 families target steady, memory-and-compute balanced use. Within each family, sizes scale from large up to larger variants such as 2xlarge, 4xlarge, 10xlarge, and 16xlarge. Your hourly rate rises with the instance size you pick. You match the instance to your workload and pay only for the hours you run it.
Top-of-mind questions for buyers
Each unit is one running EC2 instance of the chosen type, billed per hour. You pay for the software only while the instance runs. Fully stopped instances stop software charges, though underlying AWS storage fees may still apply. The clock resets each hour the instance is active.
Pick the type matching your workload. The t2, t3, and t3a families fit burstable or general use. The m3 and m4 families fit steady, balanced compute. Switching to a larger size raises your hourly rate. You change by launching a new instance type; billing follows whatever type runs.
The hourly charge covers running the software on your chosen instance. Hossted offers separate enterprise support plans for open-source applications, including troubleshooting, severity-based response times, and a dedicated account manager. These support tiers are arranged directly with the vendor and are not part of the Marketplace hourly dimensions.

After deployment, you can access your application at http://<public IP>. (It might take up to 15 minutes to be available post-deployment). The machine is accessible via SSH, default username: ubuntu. Where relevant, app login credentials are available on message of the day (and /etc/motd).
