You pay for vendor support on the Ubuntu 26 ARM image, not the operating system license. The hourly rate covers the supported, pre-configured image. You also pay the separate AWS charge for the EC2 instance you run it on. Both appear on your AWS bill.
Am I charged the hourly rate when my instance is stopped or paused?
The hourly support charge meters running time. A fully stopped instance does not accrue the hourly software rate. Stopped instances may still incur AWS storage fees for attached volumes, but that is a separate AWS charge, not the vendor support rate.
Why do the hourly rates differ across instance types like t4g.nano and r8g.metal-48xl?
Each dimension maps to one ARM-based EC2 instance size. The hourly support rate tracks the instance's vCPU and memory. Smaller sizes such as t4g.nano carry a lower rate; larger and bare-metal sizes such as r8g.metal-48xl carry a higher rate. You pick the size matching your workload.

The interface is very simple. The overall system is ultra smooth. All the peripherals are supported out of box as well as the drivers are in working condition. It is easy to integrate with server side applications such as nodeJS and Docker. The customer support is awesome as there is very large community for this operating system.
What do you dislike about the product?
Few packages were outdated but they can easily be updated using snap and apt.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We are using Ubuntu 18 in our server side computers. It is very robust and easy to maintain. Troubleshooting is very easy using SSH. Overall our response times are reduced heavily after deploying it as server side OS.

What is an LTS version, which therefore has much greater support for updates than non-LTS versions and good stability for production.

which is already several years old and although it is LTS, some software not properly tested may not be in the official repositories

Can't play too many games. Unable to install multiple softwares.

Ubuntu 18 is the defacto distro for 32bit support as an LTS release is the primary reason to continue using Ubuntu 18.04

Out of box feature parity compared to current Ubuntu LTS releases is severely lacking
