Overview
This is a repackaged open source software product wherein additional charges apply for technical support with a 24-hour response time. Zig and ZLS, built on a minimal CentOS Stream 9 installation, are included in this AMI, repackaged by Easycloud. It provides a pre-configured, high-performance systems programming environment, deliberately engineered to deliver a modern, drop-in replacement for traditional C/C++ toolchains with robust explicit memory control.
Core Features & Integrations
-
CentOS Stream 9 Foundation: Provides a robust, enterprise-grade underlying OS with deep structural alignment to RHEL, ensuring high security and seamless ecosystem compatibility with AlmaLinux, Rocky Linux, and traditional CentOS deployments.
-
Latest Zig & IDE Toolchain: Pre-installed with Zig 0.15.2 and the Zig Language Server (ZLS) 0.15.1. Whether you are using VS Code Remote or Neovim, the environment is ready to provide immediate code completion, jump-to-definition, and diagnostics out of the box.
-
Drop-in C/C++ Cross-Compiler: The zig cc and zig c++ commands are fully configured. You can immediately use Zig as a powerful, zero-dependency cross-compiler replacement for GCC, Clang, and LLVM to build complex C/C++ projects.
Key Benefits
-
Ideal Foundation for Modern Stacks: A bloat-free, compiler-ready environment ensures maximum compute availability. This makes it the perfect, conflict-free base for developing and cross-compiling for the world's most popular programming languages including Python, OpenJDK (Java), Node.js (JavaScript/TypeScript), Golang, Rust,C#, and PHP.
-
High-Performance Infrastructure Node: It acts as the ultimate node for building and deploying next-generation web proxies and load balancers (HAProxy, Caddy, Nginx), distributed caches or databases (Redis, Aerospike, Memcached, PostgreSQL,MySQL), and system monitoring agents (Telegraf).
-
Optimized for Lightweight Targets: The toolchain is uniquely optimized for creating static, zero-dependency binaries. This allows for seamless cross-compilation targeting lightweight environments like Alpine Linux, providing a modern alternative to the traditional GCC workflow.
-
Production Ready & Expert Support: Secured with the latest OS patches. It delivers a highly stable environment, fully supported by comprehensive documentation and fast technical assistance (guaranteed 24-hour response time) to ensure your development infrastructure runs smoothly without costly downtime.
Highlights
- Latest Toolchain: Pre-loaded with Zig and ZLS, providing the most up-to-date development environment.
- Cross-Compilation Powerhouse: Ready-to-use zig cc wrapper effectively replaces GCC/Clang for seamless cross-platform builds.
- Expert Support: Backed by comprehensive documentation and fast, professional technical assistance.

Amazon Machine Image (AMI)
An AMI is a virtual image that provides the information required to launch an instance. Amazon EC2 (Elastic Compute Cloud) instances are virtual servers on which you can run your applications and workloads, offering varying combinations of CPU, memory, storage, and networking resources. You can launch as many instances from as many different AMIs as you need.
