HAProxy is a open source software that provides a high availability load balancer and reverse proxy for TCP and HTTP-based applications that spreads requests across multiple servers.
This Linux image provided is tailored for enterprise-level performance on AWS, containing an installation of HAProxy, the necessary packages to operate an SSH Server and permit user logins. The most recent security updates from the team are incorporated. Root login is deactivated, with only the default user granted access via SSH public key authentication.

Dimensions summary
You pay by the hour for each running instance, with no upfront commitment. Pricing scales with the AWS EC2 instance type you choose, all ARM-based. Options span multiple families: general-purpose (m6g, m7g, t4g, a1), compute-optimized (c6g, c6gd, c6gn, c7g), memory-optimized (r6g, r6gd, r7g, x2gd), storage-optimized (im4gn, is4gen), and GPU (g5g). Within each family, sizes range from small (nano, micro, medium) up to large multi-core and bare-metal (metal) configurations. Larger instances carry more compute, memory, or storage, so the hourly rate rises accordingly. Each hour combines the software and Apollo's support.
Top-of-mind questions for buyers
One hour is one running EC2 instance of the type you select. The rate combines the HAProxy software license and Apollo's support for that instance. Each running instance meters its own hours. Running several instances bills each one separately, added together on your invoice.
Software charges apply only while the instance runs. A fully stopped instance stops accruing hourly software and support charges. AWS may still bill underlying storage for a stopped instance, but that is separate from this listing's per-hour software rate.
This is usage-based, pay-as-you-go. You pay per hour for each running instance with no upfront commitment. Charges start when an instance runs and stop when it is powered off. This suits variable workloads where you scale instances up or down as needed.
