Teams standardizing on Rocky Linux from CIQ Pro 10 (x86_64) get a production-ready Enterprise Linux that is 100% Enterprise Linux binary compatible, so existing tooling works without changes.
Highlights
GPU-READY (NVIDIA): Ships the NVIDIA CUDA Toolkit, matched datacenter GPU drivers, and DOCA/OFED networking pre-integrated, so accelerated workloads run at first boot. Rocky Linux is among NVIDIA's supported Enterprise Linux distributions. CUDA Toolkit tracks the latest CUDA release.

AWS Marketplace now accepts line of credit payments through the PNC Vendor Finance program. This program is available to select AWS customers in the US, excluding NV, NC, ND, TN, & VT.
Pricing is based on actual usage, with charges varying according to how much you consume. Subscriptions have no end date and may be canceled any time.
Additional AWS infrastructure costs may apply. Use the AWS Pricing Calculator to estimate your infrastructure costs.
If you are an AWS Free Tier customer with a free plan, you are eligible to subscribe to this offer. You can use free credits to cover the cost of eligible AWS infrastructure. See AWS Free Tier for more details. If you created an AWS account before July 15th, 2025, and qualify for the Legacy AWS Free Tier, Amazon EC2 charges for Micro instances are free for up to 750 hours per month. See Legacy AWS Free Tier for more details.
You pay by the hour based on the EC2 instance type you run. Each dimension maps to a specific instance (for example, t3.medium, m7i.4xlarge, or p5.48xlarge), so your rate reflects the compute, memory, storage, and GPU capacity of that machine. Larger instances within a family cost more per hour than smaller ones. The software layer is the same across every instance; only the underlying hardware changes the price. You can start and stop instances as needed, and charges accrue only while an instance runs. There is no upfront commitment or fixed term.
Top-of-mind questions for buyers
What counts as one billable unit for this hourly software charge?
You are billed per running EC2 instance, per hour. Each instance you launch with this operating system counts separately. The rate depends on the instance type you select. Hardware size and GPU capacity drive the rate, while the software layer stays the same across all instance types.
Am I charged for instances that are stopped or powered off?
The software charge meters running time only. Fully stopped instances do not accrue software charges. You are billed for each hour an instance runs. Stopped instances may still incur underlying AWS storage fees for attached volumes, but those are separate from this software charge.
What ships in this operating system across all instance types I run?
Each instance includes the CIQ Linux Kernel built from the current upstream long-term release, the CUDA toolkit, NVIDIA drivers, and AI frameworks tested together. Container tiers and an AI-tuned kernel profile are included. The same software environment runs regardless of which instance type you pick.

An AMI is a virtual image that provides the information required to launch an instance. Amazon EC2 (Elastic Compute Cloud) instances are virtual servers on which you can run your applications and workloads, offering varying combinations of CPU, memory, storage, and networking resources. You can launch as many instances from as many different AMIs as you need.
Version release notes
Updated to the latest security patches and package updates as of October 11, 2026.

Usage instructions
Connect to the instance over SSH using the instance public IP, with username "rocky" and the private key generated when you launched the instance.
Example command: $ ssh -i ./ssh-private-key.pem rocky@PublicIPAddress
When you are logged in as "rocky", you can use the sudo command to run administrative tasks. Note that the specific command you use to connect to the instance may vary depending on the operating system and ssh client you are using on your end. By default, the instance is secured by AWS network security configuration; you may optionally install your choice of a local firewall such as firewalld after launch.
