The NIST compliance framework, developed by the National Institute of Standards and Technology, is a set of guidelines, standards, and best practices that organizations can follow to manage and mitigate cybersecurity risks. It is widely recognized as a best practice for organizations looking to enhance their cybersecurity posture. Many government agencies, contractors, and businesses in highly-regulated industries such as healthcare and finance have adopted the NIST framework as a way to manage and mitigate cybersecurity risks. Additionally, organizations that process, store, or transmit sensitive data can benefit from using the NIST framework to implement appropriate security controls and safeguard against data breaches. The NIST framework can be used as a roadmap for developing and improving cybersecurity programs and can help organizations achieve compliance with various cybersecurity regulations and standards.

AWS Marketplace now accepts line of credit payments through the PNC Vendor Finance program. This program is available to select AWS customers in the US, excluding NV, NC, ND, TN, & VT.
Pricing is based on actual usage, with charges varying according to how much you consume. Subscriptions have no end date and may be canceled any time. Alternatively, you can pay upfront for a contract, which typically covers your anticipated usage for the contract duration. Any usage beyond contract will incur additional usage-based costs.
Additional AWS infrastructure costs may apply. Use the AWS Pricing Calculator to estimate your infrastructure costs.
If you are an AWS Free Tier customer with a free plan, you are eligible to subscribe to this offer. You can use free credits to cover the cost of eligible AWS infrastructure. See AWS Free Tier for more details. If you created an AWS account before July 15th, 2025, and qualify for the Legacy AWS Free Tier, Amazon EC2 charges for Micro instances are free for up to 750 hours per month. See Legacy AWS Free Tier for more details.
You pay by the hour for a hardened Red Hat Enterprise Linux 9 image built to NIST and STIG standards. Pricing is not tiered by feature. Instead, each dimension maps to a specific AWS EC2 instance type, and you pick the one that fits your workload. Rates rise with the size and capability of the instance you choose. Options span small burstable machines, general-purpose and memory-optimized types, compute-optimized types, storage- and GPU-focused instances, and bare-metal servers. You are billed only for the hours each instance runs, so cost scales with usage.
Top-of-mind questions for buyers
What does one hourly unit map to for this hardened Red Hat Enterprise Linux 9 image?
One unit is one running EC2 instance of the type you select, billed per hour. Each dimension name matches an AWS instance type with set vCPU and memory. You pick the instance that fits your workload, and the rate reflects that instance's size and capability.
Am I charged for the software when my instance is stopped or paused?
Software charges accrue only while an instance runs. A stopped or paused instance stops the hourly software meter. You may still owe underlying AWS fees, such as storage for attached volumes, but the hardened image itself meters running hours only.
If I move a workload to a larger instance type, how does my cost change?
Cost changes when you launch a different instance type. Each type has its own hourly rate, so a larger instance bills at a higher rate per hour. The switch is not automatic; you choose the instance at launch, and billing follows the type actually running.
