Armorbytes Red Hat Enterprise Linux 10 image enforces Level 2 security controls that are compatible with the Center for Internet Security® (CIS) Benchmark. Armorbyte is not affiliated with or certified by CIS; the benchmark is referenced solely as an industry standard. Additional hardening disables unused daemons, enforces strong SSH policies, and schedules automated security updates.
The baseline maps to the NIST CSF, ISO 27001, PCI DSS, HIPAA, and other frameworks, giving teams a proven starting point toward compliance without the usual DIY effort.

You pay by the hour for a hardened Red Hat Enterprise Linux 10 server, billed per running instance. Pricing is not tiered by feature. Instead, each dimension maps to a specific EC2 instance type, so your rate depends on the compute size you choose. Options span general-purpose (t2, t3, t3a, m3, m5a), compute-optimized (c3, c5a), memory-optimized (r3, r5a), storage-optimized (i2, i3, d3), and GPU (g2, g3, g5, p2, p3) families. You add software charges to standard AWS infrastructure costs, scaling as you run more or larger instances.
Top-of-mind questions for buyers
Each unit is one running EC2 instance of the type you select. You are billed per instance-hour. If you run three instances, you pay three hourly software charges. The rate matches the instance type, so larger compute sizes carry higher hourly charges. Each running instance meters separately.
The software charge meters running instance-hours only. A fully stopped instance does not accrue the hourly software fee. Underlying AWS storage costs for the attached volumes may still apply while the instance is stopped. Charges resume when you start the instance again.
Every instance ships pre-hardened for regulated workloads, built to meet PCI DSS, HIPAA, NIST, and STIG benchmarks. The hardening does not change with instance type. Your choice of instance affects only compute size and the hourly rate, not the security configuration included with the image.

Usage instructions
Allow inbound SSH access in your security group (TCP port 22) To connect to your instance using the Amazon EC2 console: Open the Amazon EC2 console at https://console.aws.amazon.com/ec2/ .
In the navigation pane, choose Instances.
Select the instance and choose Connect. Choose the EC2 Instance Connect tab. For Connection type, choose Connect using EC2 Instance Connect. Access the ec2 with the default username: ec2-user
