Dimensions summary
You pay by the hour based on the EC2 instance type you run. Each dimension maps to a specific instance size, so your rate follows the compute, memory, and storage that instance provides. Smaller instances like t3.nano bill at lower hourly rates, while large multi-processor and bare-metal instances like m7i.metal-48xl or u-24tb1.112xlarge bill higher. There are no tiers or upfront commitments. You choose the instance that fits your workload, run it as needed, and stop paying when you shut it down. Software support from the vendor is included in the hourly rate.

One unit is one running EC2 instance charged per hour. Each dimension names a specific instance type, such as t3.large or c5.metal. You pay the hourly rate for that instance while it runs. Bare-metal dimensions like m6i.metal map to a full physical server rather than a shared virtual machine.
The hourly software charge meters running time only. When you stop or shut down the instance, the software charge stops. Stopped instances may still incur underlying AWS storage fees for attached volumes, but those are separate from this listing's per-hour software rate.
