    Overview

    Activities:

    Kick-off and Planning:

    • House of Brick consultants will conduct a pre-engagement kick-off conference call to discuss Client license environment, technical architecture, and organizational questions/concerns • Consultants will review this information in preparation for the workshop, and for potentially tailoring content for Client-specific circumstances

    Oracle on AWS Workshop:

    Overview of Oracle licensing in AWS House of Brick will guide Client technical and management professionals as appropriate to gather and review summary information: Current Oracle license entitlement Oracle database versions and features in use o Oracle middleware deployments o Existing Oracle architecture and supporting infrastructure including:  Representative server models and core counts  Virtualization technology in use Develop current-state license use estimate based on above inputs

    Oracle on AWS Business Case:

    • Develop high-level options for optimized Oracle licensing in AWS: o Target instance family to optimize license costs o Estimated Oracle footprint on AWS optimized for licensing cost o AWS options for running Oracle; EC2, Dedicated Hosts, RDS, etc. o Application of Oracle cloud licensing policy vs traditional core-based licensing o Develop estimate of Oracle license use in AWS vs. existing environment

    Deliverables

    • PowerPoint summary including findings and recommendations regarding: o License entitlement summary o High-level AWS architecture to optimize Oracle licensing o Estimate of Oracle licensing in AWS vs. current environment. • Copies of workshop slides on Oracle licensing in AWS best practices • House of Brick will present an overview of the final report to the customer via conference call/web-conference.

    Scoping Assumptions

    • House of Brick personnel are not attorneys. While the information provided has been developed in conjunction with many clients and their legal teams, all information shared, and any potential decisions that Client will make based on this information should first be reviewed with Client legal advisors. • Information on Oracle license entitlement, Oracle usage, server models, and server utilization to be provided by Client personnel at a summary level, not as a result of detailed research by House of Brick. • Pricing is based on estimated maximum of: o 100 Oracle databases o 100 WebLogic instances • License analysis is scoped to Oracle Database, Oracle Database features/options, and Oracle middleware (WebLogic and Internet Application Server) • License recommendations assume that the current Oracle environment is fully licensed and in compliance. • Licensing recommendations will focus on processor based licensing for Oracle products in scope. Licensing recommendations would apply to other products only to the extent they are licensed on a processor basis. • Out of scope for this engagement – these topics are recommended for future scope: o Compliance assessment of the current Oracle environment o Review of Oracle agreements and contracts for terms and conditions o Restructuring of Oracle contracts to optimize Oracle costs o Detailed sizing and architecture of AWS environment o Oracle to AWS migration planning • House of Brick will rely upon Client provided information for existing Oracle licensing cost. Obtaining price quotes for Oracle licensing is the responsibility of Client.

    General Assumptions

    • Client IT management, project lead, architects, application team, and technical administrators working in a team environment with House of Brick as appropriate. • House of Brick will work with Client on regular status and course-corrections to assure that services are provided within the above scope and schedule. If, in consultation with Client, it is determined that certain critical analyses or processes will exceed the above scope, then those items will become a change order to this assessment or a separate subsequent engagement. • House of Brick’s consulting resources are subject to availability, and scheduling is recommended in advance. • Client has provided House of Brick all necessary forms, background check, and security requirements to grant individual consultants necessary security and facilities access and will ensure all access is granted before work on this assessment begins. • House of Brick services will include remote consulting only.

    Estimated Schedule

    • Approximately 2 calendar week • Remote kick-off, workshops, assessment activities & documentation • Web conference review of deliverables

    Staffing

    House of Brick will provide a multidisciplinary team to deliver the above consulting engagement and coordinate with the Client team:

    Engagement Manager Business Analyst Principal Oracle Architect

    Consulting Fee to be Paid to House of Brick and Manner of Payment:

    Fixed fee of $10,000 exclusive of travel expense (all work assumed to be remote)

    Fee paid by AWS funding
